All chimneys should be swept every 12 months at a minimum (depending on the fuel used), to cut down the risk of fires and dangerous emissions. We are fully insured (2,500,000 public liability). Member of the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps. Further information on the Guild can be found here. I use modern and professional chimney sweeping equipment, including a powerful Hepa filtered industrial vacuum cleaner specifically designed for chimney sweeping.
This prevents harmful dust from entering the room in which the fire appliance is located and keeps it in the vacuum where it should be! To provide the best chimney cleaning service to our customers, in addition to using the traditional chimney sweeping method of brush and rods, I also use the modern 'Power Sweeping' chimney cleaning system. Power Sweeping is far more efficient than traditional sweeping and removes more soot and provides a much deeper clean of a chimney flue.
However, the system is very powerful and should only be used when appropriate.

Services
Modern chimney sweeping is a very clean process where the fireplace or stove is completely sealed off using robust linen covers.
An industrial vacuum cleaner is used to ensure no dust escapes into the room where the fire appliance is situated.
Rods are inserted through a special 'elephant's trunk' flap sewn into the linen sheets that seal off the fireplace and this 'elephant's trunk' also helps to prevent dust and soot escaping into the room.
It will still be necessary to have access to the inside of the property to seal off the fireplace/stove to ensure that no dust / soot enters the room during the sweep.
