They say this because they do not want to loose business.

I only fit an RCD double socket.
This RCD basically (without getting technical) means that it has very specific safety features built in.
A secure and robust permanent outdoor weatherproof double switched socket with latching RCD from BG Electrical Storm range.
The RCD protection cuts off power safely and prevents electrocution in the event of a fault, the latching operation means the unit returns to the original state when power is resumed.
