Welcome and thank you for visiting the Cornwall Rug Cleaning website owned and run by Carpet Knights. Established in 2004 by Cornish couple Sarah and Goron, Carpet Knights now have over 2500 clients across the County. Rugs are a passion of ours at Carpet Knights and we have undergone some very intensive training by some of the world leaders in rug cleaning, Aaron Groseclose and Ellen Amirkhan who came to the Uk from the USA to teach a select few.
In recent years the demand for oriental rugs has increased dramatically along with their appreciation and even monetary value. This has seen many rugs that have been in storage in the loft for example and once considered incompatible with modern decor being brought back into the open again. As you can imagine after spending many years rolled up in the attic or garage these rugs are usually in need of a good and thorough clean and maybe even some minor repairs.
We don't only clean oriental rugs though, here at Carpet Knights we enjoy cleaning all types of rugs like modern tufted rugs, shag pile rugs, runners, Flatweave, needlepoint, hand-knotted, hand-tufted, hand-hooked, and machine-made.

In 2004 local Cornish couple Goron and Sarah made their aspirations of running a quality family business a reality with the conception of Carpet Knights.
Having never run a business before the start up proved to be an awkward one.
From the offset it was decided that Carpet Knights would offer the best service and quality possible so large investments were made into machinery and cleaning products and also into numerous training courses around the country.
So, Carpet Knights had the ability to clean carpets, upholstery and rugs very well but didn't have much in the way of them to clean.

Sometimes, like with this rug, we don't need to use any cleaning solutions due to the amount of residue left behind by previous cleaners.
This is all rinsed out of course.
To finish the drying process, the rugs are hung to dry in our heated, humidity regulated and internet controlled drying room.
Whilst in here the pile is groomed and the rugs inspected.
Wrapped in our breathable, waterproof wrapping the rugs are ready for delivery or collection.

I'm not normally a great lover of Chinese rugs but the sculpting and carving used on this one to produce a 3D scene amazed me.
We collected this Chinese rug from Holsworthy along with two other rugs to be cleaned, dried, wrapped and returned.
Looking forward to taking part in Tuff Enuff at worlds end next weekend at St Buryan, Penzance!

We cleaned this lovely green Pakistani Bokhara today that we collected from Cardinham, Bodmin.
The soap suds you can see in the pool with the rug are a result of whatever was used by the previous cleaners, we have not added any kind of cleaning solution to this.

Carpet knights can collect your rug from your home or place of work and take it away to our premises to work on.
We will remove as much of the soiling as we can mechanically whilst the rug is dry.

Underlay is not widely used under rugs in this country for some reason but by adding it you will find that your rugs will feel much more luxurious under your feet and will also help improve their lifespan.
