Oriental Rug Spa is a division of New Look Carpet Care Ltd. A company which is Master Rug Cleaner certified, Woolsafe approved and a Which Trusted Trader. It has been involved in the textile care industry since 1989 and now operates a fully dedicated rug cleaning facility in Camberley, Surrey. All fibre types can be treated, whether they are wool rugs, silk rugs, viscose rugs, rayon rugs or cotton rugs.
Rug construction can vary greatly and we are well practised in caring for all attributions, including; Persian rugs, Turkish rugs, Caucasian rugs, Chinese rugs, Indian rugs, Tibetan rugs, Tribal rugs and Kilims. Persian, Oriental and contemporary rugs can all be a large investment. They can be the show piece to many rooms, with some homeowners choosing a colour scheme to complement the pallet of the rug itself.
Hand woven rugs should be considered as pieces of art due to the skill required to achieve the intricate designs, coupled with the considerable time taken to produce. Therefore it is essential that rugs are treated carefully and not cleaned in-situ, the same way as a fitted carpet.

Services
1. Dry soil removal.
After the initial assessment the rug will have all the damaging grit and soil removed with our vibration machine.
The first step is to vacuum the back to remove any loose debris and pet hair.
Then the vibration machine will slowly move over the rug, removing all the deeply embedded soil.
The rug is then turned over and the top side is vacuumed.
3. Pre rinse.
Cold softened water is then applied to prepare the fibres to better accept the cleaning solution.
4. Shampoo application.

After your rugs have been cleaned, they will be free of damaging soil and contaminants that can cause premature wear.
The fibres will feel softer and the once dull colours will be richer and revitalised.
In order to preserve the improved appearance of your rug, it makes perfect sense to have a protective treatment applied after washing.
The protection will create an invisible barrier which coats each individual fibre, making it more difficult for soiling and staining to penetrate.
The protective barrier will also ensure that regular vacuuming will be more effective, as the soil will be sitting on the tips of the fibres waiting to be easily removed.

Pet stains and odour problems are the most common concerns that we see at our rug care facility.
The only way to have the urine removed is to fully wash the rug, utilising the correct chemistry to deal with the urine.
The pet urine will not only be present within the face fibres of the rug, it will also be in the back, otherwise known as the foundation.
Pet accidents can cause serious damage to your rugs if not dealt with quickly.
The urine can cause unsightly yellow patches which cannot always be removed.

During our twenty six years experience in the textile cleaning industry, we have realised that our customers form an emotional attachment with their beloved rugs.
Fitted carpets do not generate the same sentimental feelings.
Handmade rugs can take months to weave and the finished product should be thought of as a work of art.
Many designs can provide clues as to where the rug was constructed.
Typical designs have been passed down through generations, and some patterns are woven from memory, without following any guides.

Female carpet moths can lay hundreds of eggs during their short lifespan of approximately two weeks.
The eggs will be laid in dark undisturbed areas, such as, under rugs or furniture and towards the edges of fitted carpet.
The eggs typically hatch within ten days.
The resultant larvae will happily feast on your valuable rugs for many months.
The moth larvae digest a protein called Keratin, which is found in wool.
While the larvae remains undisturbed with a constant food source, they can live up to three years before developing into adults.
